![]() I don’t know if they were giving false hope or genuinely panned on Ash reclaiming Pidgeot but either way it makes a disappointing end to Pidgeot.Įven with the disappointing and cluttered moments of the episode it remained overall average. Unlike Butterfree this isn’t a satisfying goodbye because of that. Infamously even though Ash promises to return after the arc, he never does. Ash riding it into battle was pretty epic. It was satisfying to see it evolve during a rough battle. I liked Pidgeotto it was a consistent and stable pokemon. Which is a shame since he caught it in episode 3. Pidgeotto isn’t a pokemon Ash has used often in his journeys. This is a problem that’s come up several times already, seems like more episodes like this are likely to happen. Team Rocket’s battle was fine, it at least had a cool battle with Charizard. Heck Professor Oak sending them on a new journey felt rushed as it is. They could have gotten away with half party and half spearow/fearow attack. This is another one that crams too many plots. ![]() I wish Team Rocket didn’t have an attack this episode. It really wasn’t the type of setting for a full episode. The party doesn’t last long, which is fine. ![]() Too often it feels like the anime is working to tear down Ash. I’m glad he’s getting the recognition he deserves. I mean top 16 is legitimately impressive. I think a party celebrating Ash is a cute idea. ![]() It feels more like it should have been at the end of the last arc. (*Spoiler he never comes back for Pidgeot)įor the start of a new journey this episode was pretty underwhelming. He promises to come back as soon as he gets Oak’s pokeball though. Ash decides it’s best for Pidgeot to stay behind for a bit to protect the flock. Ash rides on Pidgeot in to battle and they end up saving the little flock from the mean pokemon. It ends up hurt by the fearow, but gains the determination to evolve into Pidgeot. Ash uses his own Pidegotto to give the flock the courage to fly away. After a short battle Ash is stuck in a tree with Team Rocket and a flock of pidgey and pidgeotto. The fearow leader is the spearow from the first episode Ash hit with a rock. On there way our of Pallet the gang is attacked by a flock of spearow and fearow. When everything’s settled Professor Oak asks Ash and the gang to head to the Orange Archipelago to pick up a mysterious pokeball for him. Charizard does send Team Rocket blasting off and saves Pikachu. Pidgeotto is injurted trying to stop them so it’s up to Charizard. Team Rocket tries escaping in their balloon and they blow up the party. They spike food for Ash with hot spices that burn his mouth and in the chaos snag Pikachu. Our heroes and their pokemon enjoy the food and fun. This is the last English episode of the 1990s.Despite that this is an Indigo League episode, this episode was released as part of the Pokémon: Orange Islands DVD box set.The Spearow Ash hit with a rock back in IL001: Pokémon - I Choose You! evolved prior to this episode. This episode was considered the season finale of the Indigo League series. On their way, Ash is in for another surprise when his Pidgeotto evolves into a Pidgeot just in time to save the day! Then Ash releases Pidgeot to protect the other Pidgey and Pidgeotto from the Spearows and Fearow. Professor Oak makes a request for Ash, Brock and Misty to go on another journey to bring back a mysterious looking PokéBall for him. Team Rocket, as usual, ruins the party with another bumbling attempt to steal Pikachu. After battling in the Pokémon League Tournament, Ash and his friends return to Pallet Town for a hero's welcome.
